What vaccines do I need for Turkey?
Turkey is a blend of history, culture, and stunning landscapes. However, some health risks are worth noting before you fly. For most travellers, routine vaccines such as MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) and the seasonal flu jab are advised. Depending on where you’re staying and your planned activities, you might need:
Hepatitis A: Spread through contaminated food or water, hepatitis A is a common concern for travellers.
Typhoid: Like hepatitis A, typhoid is transmitted via food and water. This is especially important if you plan to eat street food or visit rural areas.
When you attend your vaccine appointment let us know your itinerary and we’ll make sure that you’re completely covered before you travel.
What vaccines do I need for Spain?
Spain is one of the UK’s favourite holiday destinations. While it doesn’t require as many vaccinations as more exotic locations, you should still be up to date with your routine immunisations, such as tetanus and diphtheria. If you’re travelling during tick season, particularly to rural areas, you might consider getting the tick-borne encephalitis vaccine. Ticks in certain areas of Europe can carry diseases, so prevention is key.
What vaccines do I need for Mexico?
Known for its vibrant culture and delicious cuisine, Mexico is a must-visit destination for those looking for some winter sun. To stay healthy while enjoying everything it has to offer, consider getting the hepatitis A and typhoid vaccines. Both are commonly recommended due to the risk of contaminated food and water.
The Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for those engaging in activities that could involve exposure to blood or bodily fluids, such as certain medical procedures or tattoos.
If you’re heading to remote areas or likely to interact with animals, the rabies vaccine is a good idea. If you’re not sure you’d benefit from this vaccine, please discuss your plans and vaccine history with our pharmacist.
What vaccines do I need for Egypt?
From the pyramids to the Nile, Egypt offers unforgettable experiences. It’s a popular destination for those looking for a relaxing break and also an unforgettable site seeing experience. However, like most warm weather destinations, it’s important you get your vaccines up to date to make sure nothing interrupts your break.
Hepatitis A and typhoid are both recommended for travellers for Egypt. Hepatitis B might be advisable depending on your planned activities, this may be advised. If you believe you’ll becoming into contact with animals while you’re on holiday, we would recommend getting the rabies vaccine before you travel.
Another vaccine you’ll need before you travel to Egypt is yellow fever. While Egypt isn’t a yellow fever risk area, you may need proof of vaccination to enter. Our clinic is a registered yellow fever vaccination centre and can help you get vaccinated and give you all the paperwork you might need. It’s better to get it in advance and be prepared, rather than find out you did need it and be denied entry.
What vaccines do I need for Thailand?
Thailand is famous for its beaches, temples, and street food, but it also has some health risks that vaccines can help prevent. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Thailand this year we recommend getting hepatitis A & B, typhoid, rabies and Japanese Encephalitis if you’re visiting rural or farming areas during the rainy season.
For travel to Thailand it’s also worth making sure you’re up to date with your malaria prevention advice. While there’s no vaccine for malaria, our clinic can give you advice on how to stay safe from malaria, symptoms to look out for and what to do if you think you’ve been exposed.
What vaccines do I need for India?
India is a diverse and vibrant country, but it’s also home to several diseases that can be prevented with vaccines. For travellers to India hepatitis A, typhoid, and hepatitis B are highly recommended.
With many stray animals around, especially dogs, the rabies vaccine is often advised for travellers. If you’re specific parts of India or areas with limited access to clean water you may benefit from the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine to protect from ticks and the cholera vaccine to reduce your risk of contracting Cholera.
